i like the big turbo still just in case some new camaro SS decides he wants to play, and i still need to put him in his place haha
How much power is your current set up making? I probably wouldnt go any smaller than a 61 either way. Then again, not really sure whats best for drifting.

LOVE the Driveshaft from DM its a 1pc which i love. Also you would need the diff adapter(as pictured) from DM as well.. You wouldnt even need a new diff the diff adapter allows you to use it with your current diff in the SC...

its not really "whats best" but whats comfortable. I know my boy can handle a t78 drifitn cuz he can really control it once it spools and he likes that you need to keep it in high RPM to keep it spooled. The skylines i drove were fast spool and really smooth so i was controlling the boost but with the large turbo you cant really control the boost once it spools, its goin hahaha

not sure about the power, every mechanic working on my car has been around supras for years and worked on many 800+ HP supras and 240s, and they said around 500, if not low 5's then HIGH HIGH 4's at 20lbs, but i plan on going 25 lbs so im guessing 500 rwhp, but i dont care about max hp, im going for performance but 5 to the wheels is impressive and scary ahha

I don't have the trans yet. I was gonna do a 1jz swap and right now I'm starting to gather parts. If I get a 1jz from a soarer would it come with a r154 or a w58?

depends..... the w58 is a SC300 transmission and the R154 is a Supra MKIII Transmission. The soarer itself didnt come out with a manual transmission.

direct qoute....

"The Toyota Soarers made from the years 1991-2000 were offered with a 4-speed automatic transmission for all models. In addition, the JZZ30 Soarer could be had with a 5-speed manual transmission which is the R154 MKIII Supra Transmission. It had a luxury feel to it, yet the 2.5GT twin turbo model in particular was truly a very powerful sports car as well. Not surprising though, given its 1JZ-GTE engine was used for the MKIII Supra as well. Both cars' suspension, brakes, drivetrain, and engine parts were interchangeable"

wait.. that quote says that it could be had with the R154. Im pretty sure they sold the 2.5GT models as 5spds and if you get a 1jzgte with a 5spd it should be an R154 unless the seller decided to pull a fast one on ya.

the qoutes from the soarer dealership website.

They did sell 2.5tt as 5 speed but only certain rare models. Every Soarer i saw in Japan was an automatic. The 5 speeds were custom built with a supra R154 MKIII transmission. Regardless they use the same engine and tranny so if it comes from a soarer or supra, its the same thing....

good luck with the build, and if you have any questions let me know..
