Hi, Im planning to make a 2jzgte swap with a R154 manual transmission on my 1996 SC400 V8, im not sure if the SC400 crossmember its the same as the SC300 so the 2JZ can fit. Also want to know if I have to modify the rack and pinion or something else to make the swap complette. wath do I have to change or modify in my sc400 so the 2JZGTe can fit ??
Please help.
No, crossmembers are the same. Mounts are different.
x4. to do to the swap, you need a sc300 oil pan, sc300 engine mounts and brackets, you can reuse the auto sc4 tranny bracket with the r154 as long as you have a soarer or manual sc300 transmission mount but you have to round out the holes a little. You can also use the sc400 throttle cable, its tite but works fine. THATS IT, thread finished
I have used some TT mounts on my buddy's SC4 with V8 and worked fine.
i made this mistake by listening to someone on the forums. only later year TT mounts will work because the right mount is angled improperly pre 97 i believe. not being an azz but i wouldnt tell people this because it wasted my time when i was doing my swap. Stick with SC3 mounts and brackets ONLY.
So this applies with the Aristo 2j as well, I'm assuming it has the same mounts/mounting points?
as stated b4, you need the rubber mounts and brackets from a sc300. yes these bolt up to the aristo 2jz. The aristos engine brackets and mounts cannot be used.
^search button^ its up there somewhere, please use it. or look up my swap thread. I put a 2j with a manual in my 400... all your questions will be answered.
