Default My little experience today...

So I was on my way home today and this woman was driving in front of me. I noticed that she was putting her hand in front of her rear view mirror and I was like wow my lights aren't THAT bright lol. So she pulls over to side of the road really quick and lets me in front of her. As I pass her, she flips me off a million times and I'm like wtf? So we pull up to the next light and I roll my window down and I'm like, "Are you okay, what is your problem?" and she is like "Your lights are ****ing bright as *****, blah blah blah blah blah" and I'm like, "Um, they aren't my high beams you dumb *****" and she was like, "I'm talking about the lights on the bottom; you know if you go to get your car inspected it won't pass with those in there!!!!". So I was like, "Well, that's funny because I installed my HIDs BEFORE I got my car inspected and it passed so **** off."

The person that inspected my car was a master tech at my local Lexus dealership, and since dealerships are usually pretty strict with state inspections compared to some random gas station that doesn't care, I'm pretty sure what I have is legal. I have two 55W HID kits. One 55W 4300K kit in my low beam projectors and one 55W 10000K kit in my fogs.

So that ***** was obviously an idiot lol.

How about you guys, do you guys ever get the same problem? I also get flashed all the time for the lights as well.

I think my lights aren't aimed too high, neither is my ride height, so it probably doesn't bother that many. Plus I'm only running 35W

She wasn't trippin', those HID fogs are definitely too bright. I have HID's and i'm thinking about switchin' to stock or painting my reflectors black.

I'm definitely not hating on you as I have HID's myself but unless they came from the factory on your car they are illegal. Not to mention your running a 55w 10000k kit . Anything over 5000-6000k looks like **** especially since the higher the kelvin = appears bright but has less light output.

Yeah I knew all that. But modifying ANYTHING on ANY automobile is against the law anywhere you go. Do police agencies really enforce it everywhere? Not really. Even putting an aftermarket headunit in your car is illegal believe it or not. Is it enforced? Will you get a fix-it ticket for having one if you get pulled over and an officer sees it? No, because they don't think it is that serious or they just don't care. Perhaps both reasons! But regardless, everyone acts like HIDs in general are the worst things to put on a car that did not come from the factory, and it bothers me because I have seen MUCH MUCH MUCH MUCH MUCH worse ***** on peoples' cars that are just as bad of a distraction or problem as aftermarket HIDs if not worse.
