Default Foot light wtf?!...

So my question is who here has changed their Foot light?

The pictures aren't that good, but if you can make sense of what I'll explain, maybe someone can help me out.

So there's some silicone glue around the bulb...
The bulb is usually off as you can see from the 1st pic...
I grab the bulb and playing with wire it turns on...
Before i go ahead and try to remove the silicone or what ever it is,
I wanted to get some ideas about this particular bulb...

Is that the stock light that's suppose to be there?
Is removing the glue the way I should go about replacing this bulb?
Does anyone have a different bulb in there and if so, how did you change it?

Thanks for any comments and/or ideas

I've never seen it pulled out like that. You can change the bulb directly from the dash piece by just pulling it out from the housing. Luxurymods sells brighter LED replacement bulbs.

I hope that's the same housing you're talking about...
I pulled it out from the back of the column cover, it was not sitting where it should have been.
Can you take a look at yours and compare to my pic?...
I would just go ahead and remove the glue surrounding the bulb if it is...

I can get a picture for you later. Is this the light that dimly lights the footwell when you first open your door right? The bulb housing is attached the dash trim piece and fitted behind a plastic light diffuser.

I just checked Sylvania's website and it seems the 95+ SC's have a different bulb type. Can you easily pull the bulb out of the socket? Either way you can solder or wire the lines to brighter LEDs. I believe it's a type 74 bulb.

Yes it's the light in the footwell...but this is the first time I take a look at it since purchasing the car in august, I played with it a while and it does fit behind the plastic light diffuser. Like I mentioned there's silicone glue where the bulb fits in so its not something I would say I can easily pull it out, since I haven''t tried it.

Doing any soldering/wiring would be my next step if I can't replace it or mess up the bulb socket, cause to tell you the truth I would like me matching LED with the doors' light.

I wired my boost gauge light to that bulb.
You can just buy any led/bulb you want, snip the wire and resolder everything
