Hey everyone, tried searching for this but no luck...I was wondering can a new smart key fob be programmed to work for my 92 SC ? lol, i know i know, this may be a dumb question, but I've been wanting to know this for a while now. I HATE my key and the keyless button doesnt work so im looking to replace it anyway. Any suggestions/advice would be appreciated. DONT flame me to much for asking this lol
about your key not working with the button, have you tried replacing the battery inside? that might do it, thats what did for mine. and for the other option, i'm not sure what a smart key is, but i think your could easily take your "metal" from your first key and do like a retrofit into a different housing, obv that would still be the same key and such. just some suggestions!
PWeezy, I opened up the key. The switch looks like it can be easily soldered (2 solder joints). Only one button would be used if you put it in a key like that
I think the only other thing that was in there was an antenna (someone correct me if Im wrong) at the bottom. lmk how it goes. I'd interested in doing that too
they sell lexus shells on ebay to house a key i'm pretty sure! i'll go check. that would be pretty sweet. especially since my current key has 2 separate pieces to it...
