That was a wise choice. The rear rubs so much that I rarely drive the car anymore. I should drop it to a smaller size but I like the beefy look too much to change it.

You’ve got good sizes. Eventually I’ll go to a 285 or 295 rear.

Yeah man that’s what I wanted to avoid. I still rolled the rear though. Front is being rolled next.

I’ve got my rear fenders shaved and fronts rolled. Do you still have your front fender liners on the car?

Duck, Sorry I missed this, thank you for the well wishes. I am looking forward to being back on my car, going to grand children's games and working in the yard. Thanks again.

I have a question. Has anyone ever had a little metal shaved off the inside mounting surface of their wheels to set the wheel towards the center of this car and giving the tires a fraction more clearance. I have been thinking about having 5mm taken from inside of my wheels. I am running th300Z wheels with 8 1/2" on all four corners. I keep looking at the thickness of the mounting flange and think I will still be safe. Any comments, I am ready.

Yes I do. I recently reconditioned them and they look practically new. I’m really hoping whatever rolling is done in the front won’t ruin the liners.

I too wondered about this. I asked around and was told most machine shops wouldn’t do it. Extremely difficult to get right and lots of liability. If you need to go inwards, you need new wheels.

People do it, but it hurts resale value since most people don't like unnecessary machining. You just have to find a good machine shop that is familiar with doing it. If I remember correctly, 5mm is the max that most people are willing to do.

Bikexcoupe, thanks for your thoughts. I do have a friend that has a machine shop that can handle this little problem if I decide to go forward. I will let you know and thanks again.

Wow! Your fender liners look great! What was your process for cleaning them up? I have an extra set of fender liners that I want to clean up like this.

I used Purple Power degreaser and a little all purpose cleaner, scrubbed with stiff bristle brush and then scraped them with a plastic scraper. There were tons of little bits of asphalt bonded to the surface. Did this two or three times and then let them dry in the sun. I think it’s important to dry them this way cause they need to be bone dry and the heat helps to achieve this.

After they’re dry, I used a product called GTechniq C4, which is specifically made for the job, it is a plastic restorer. Applied a coat as per the instructions and voila. It’s a ceramic coating so it’s gonna last a long time. I did a lot of research and this coating lasts longer than just about anything else you can get. I am anticipating it will last a couple years before I’ll need to worry about it again, since I don’t drive in the rain and it’s a garaged car.

Also, there was plenty left over for me to apply it to my wiper cowling and a couple other spots and it all looks brand new.
