Hey Duck,
That is a nice looking 430 and I see you have already done the brakes and and installed a set of beautiful wheels. Thanks for the photos I enjoyed all.

Your LS430 is very nice. I didn’t realize you had wheels on it too!

Thanks. Got those back in early 2020 (18s) but took a couple of months for the center cap decals (from of all places the Ukraine). Painted brake calipers were mid 2021. The SC gets most of the attention at gatherings, though….

I don’t think I ever saw what wheels you had on it but I like it. Painted calipers are always a nice touch.

That’s interesting that the SC gets all of the attention. My LS got dramatically more attention and made me a superstar in the car scene for a while. My SC stood in the LS’ shadow for a long time. Do you ever bring both cars together?

No; they have never been side by side at the same event. Once, I brought the SC and the wife followed in her LS460 at a mainly Lexus only cars gathering but the level of cars on hand over shadowed most everything there. That was like 2016 ….

The 430 is my daily and most previous attention has been on maintenance until recently with ideas spilled over from the SC (new, larger wheels/tires, painted calipers, black badges, etc….). The 430 thread has these updates listed mostly in the “What did you do to your 430 today” topic.

The SC is the “garage queen” for sure and the only major item I have to address is the gauge cluster needles being burnt out. I plan to address this soon but Tanin takes 3-4 weeks to turn around the repair and finding a window for that length of time has been the challenge.

Hey V,
Great picture, I love it.
Did you paint your wheels, they seem darker. Boy do I need to paint mine. But not until I have my back ones widened which I have been draggling my feet on, since I can't make up my mine on how much to widen them.

Thanks Bill. I have not painted them since I first got them but I do want to powdercoat them at one point. It's probably the lighting.

From a performance perspective, my 255 tire on a 8.5inch rim is sticky enough that I can't spin even if I put my foot down. That being said it all depends on the look you're going for. I'm happy with my wheel and tire config. I may try to put 45 profile next time to see if it fits without rubbing but at this point I think I got the sizing pegged. Just gotta find the brand I like. These Michelins are nice but more noisy than I expected

Hey V
Thanks for the reply. I guess being an old Hot Rodder it's still in my blood about the wider tires/wheels on the rear and BMW and a few other car manufactures have done the same on their performance cars. Oh well it just goes back to what rocks your boat. I sure would like to know if you are able to find a powder coater that can match the color of our wheels. Good hearing from you and I say again I really loved that picture.
Best of luck,
Bill

ALMOST have this damn ECU Masters up and going (trying to figure out how to get a new 4.9LSU wideband to jive instead of going backwards to a 4.2. In the meantime - here's hers and his after a fresh wash this weekend.

We dig red cars over here lol.
