Well just so you know I changed mine out and dont regret it. I've had it in for 2 years and I'm going to buy a new one. It came out filthy dirty, where you couldn't tell it was a filter. To top it off when I first bought the car and opened the trap door tons of bugs and dirt fell onto the floor I mean a good 2 to 3 cups. It was insane.

So if you want little pieces of bugs and dirt snorted up your nose go ahead and leave it out.

If you want nice clean air go buy a cabin filter.

Seriously? I am definitely about to put one in then. I'm scared to take off the cover now to put one in. I hate bugs!

It was a mess when I first opened it up before I put in the filter. 10+ years of gunk.

Well I guess I'll have my vacuum handy when I go to open that cabin air filter box lol. There is probably going to be a big clean up.

Put a box / cardboard under before you open it up, its easier to catch it than get it over the beige carpets that most of us have haha

Guys honestly , when i removed my heater, the walls were black, and when i went to wash it, i was sick for a day because i breathed it while i was washing it. Mine is a 92, so you know its old.

Its disgusting. I never put the heater back in, i was so sick of it.

I just investigated mine 1 hour ago, i undid the 2 wingnuts, pulled the cover off, and so much mulch fell out of it, i took a vacuum and stuck it into the blower box to clean it out, there are slots and everything for the filter, just no filter, i just ordered one.

Could you possibly take a picture or two of the filter slot for me? I was digging under their today and wasn't sure what exactly it was. The plastic dash piece held on by two wing nuts was actually taken off and put in the trunk of my car, the guy who installed the audio in my car pretty much destroyed the interior just to get a few cheap speakers in....but that's another story. I'm not entirely sure where to put an air filter.
