No CEL for 95 and under cars, have not confirmed it with 96+, the truck that were are doing the 1uz/5sp swap in needs a FEW random things.

Looks great. I will be starting my swap in the near future. I have all the parts except the rubber boot that goes under the leather shifter boot. Looking forward to your comprehensive write up.

No need for tranny cooler with the manual transmission. Can be left as is.

Nice job on the swap. One of these days, i'd love to get an SC400 VVTi and do a manual swap. Would be a dope daily driver.

BTW, wood tranny stand FTW

The little details I was referring to was stuff like cleaning up the stereo wire we had to move, flanging out the cover over the output shaft, cutting the brake pedal, putting some trim in, the little stuff. Yesterday was just a make sure it runs day, and it does! Thank you Matt, Jake, Sean, Orin, Leko, and everyone else that helped make this swap a reality! You guys at Club Lexus are not only my forum friends but some of my best real friends. Thank you!

+1 on the vid, i mean after you break in the clutch. Are you using the stock exhaust system or did you upgrade that captain?

I think I remember you had CEL on after the swap. Or maybe I read wrong? I have a 92 SC4 so I won't have CEL?

OP-great job on the swap. I can only imagine how much fun it will be with 5 speed!

No CEL's ever from any of the 5-6 swaps I have done. The OD light will flash IF the speed sensor is plugged in. Its getting a signal from a tranny that isnt technically working (the auto). My remedy, remove the bulb.

Unfortunately, the remedy to remove the bulb is not going to work for us Californian's due to the smog check. Tech's still hookup to OBDII port . Yeah we all know its not a smog issue that affects the environment but we need no CEL. I don't want to fork out 200-300 to get it pass illegally every 2 years either :\. Hope someone can figure it out. I'd like to but I don't have the resource and tools just like you guys have over there. I'm usually a 1 man team working on my car alone.

Does OBD2 port checking see a OD light?? Its not a CEL, its 100% unrelated. If it was an issue, disconnect the speedometer sensor plug on the tranny? no light pops up then.

Well, I guess with 97+, having a CEL means you have a error code somewhere and california smog guys will not pass your car. Someone had posted it. Found it below.....

Yeah, only in california
