Is there a difference between these 2 MAF sensors? FMZ3AYY1 and FMZ3AYY2?

Hey all,
A Lexus repair shop recently diagnosed my car with a bad MAF. They sealed up some vacuum leaks and ran a scan on the car and it threw a air flow meter code still, so the mechanic replaced my MAF with his (he drives a SC400 too, lol) and the CEL went away and the car sprang to life. I ordered a MAF sensor on Ebay (Part # 22204-42011 - FMZ3AYY1 instead of FMZ3AYY2) and replaced the bad MAF with that and the CEL light went away and my gas mileage improved big time BUT after a day or two, the car started idling really rough and stuttering whenever I'd give it gas.
I put the old MAF back in (CEL light and gas smell came back) but the car idles and drives fine again...could it be that the sensor I put in is FMZ3AYY1 instead of FMZ3AYY2? Anyone have any ideas as to why the car would idle fine on the old MAF and act like that with the replacement?
I've sifted through a ton of threads and my brain's to melt from info overload....! Any help or input would be appreciated....
