R154 swap at home...what do yo use to...?
I am starting my r154 this weekend, I was just wondering, to the guys who did this at home without a hoist, what did you use to lower and raise the tranny while the car is on jack stands..? two jacks? or some other trick. and how high did yall raise the car? it seems like my stands wont go that high and i might have clearence issues...please let me know, thanks.

Do you already have your auto out? If not, thats going to be a little task there, drain your trans fluid itll make it a little lighter.
There is just enough room for you to get your floor jack to support your trany while you unbolt it from the engine,(and pull the trans shaft out of the crank) after you got everything free, you get it down, move the floor jack out of the way and lay the transmission on the floor and get it out of the way.
You'll have to be pretty close to the transm. yourself, so you can ballance it on the fl.jack.
Put it in the same way, you might need a hand to make a job much easier.
Jackstands, extentions for your sockets to get your trany bolts off/on (esp on the top ones)
Basic mechanics too lbox(I used craftsman 140pc)

i got all the bolts, clips, driveshaft, etc. off already just need to pull the tranny out. seems to be stuck a little but i'll figure how to get it off eventually, done it once before by myself and that w58 was heavy as hell. putting it back is even more hard unless you have someone helping you lift and guide it through.
