Thanks! They looked pretty nasty with the vinyl all torn up and they likes to crack, the newer SC's trim is made of plastic so it doesn't have that issue. If you need parts, better snap them up quick. Almost all of the interior pieces have been discontinued and only limited stock is available.

It's the key set with keyless entry (controls alarm as well) and rom card to be installed in the wireless door lock module. Got mine from Sewell Lexus

Could you post pictures of the new carpet? I'm curious to see how different it is.

So yeah... It's been a long while. The car is pretty much done and the interior is back together, still looking for a reputable place to redo the leather on the steering wheel, shifter, and redo the wood trim.

A few recent iPhone shot's of the SC400:

Man, that's a level of dedication that few have with any car, much less 2 that are largely overlooked. The results are impressive to say the least.

Wow, that's a hard blow. I'm glad that everyone is ok, but definitely offer my condolences on the loss of your childhood home. You definitely seem nostslgic(in a positive way), so I can't imagine the magnitude of the loss. I hope that the insurance company properly took care of your Mom.

Thanks! The Saturn is an even more in depth restore than this car, It's mechanically almost new, 26k mile engine, brand new manual trans, and all other moving parts and hoses are new. Now I'm working on the interior and getting the body panels replaced and repainted. The SC400 I consider more of a partial restore, it was more esthetics, because I felt like I would be wasting money and time rebuilding the engine or transmission that is still very young in the grand scheme of things. So I've done heavy maintenance to the vehicle to make sure it stays in good mechanical shape as well.

Losing the house was hard, even more so on my mother, but insurance has taken care of it and it's in the process of being rebuilt. Sure makes you realize how quickly you can loose everything. Fortunately, I took all the family videos to my house a few weeks prior after my mother had been asking about getting them digitized and we got lucky that about half of the family photos were salvageable, other than that we really took almost nothing out of the house.

I've acquired them from low mileage salvage cars over the years. I was lucky enough to find two perfect sets at an indoor junkyard.

Thanks! Tell me about it, I just set a monthly parts budget and purchase a little at a time. It's been a slow project, but I thoroughly enjoy having an SC400 that's 20 years old that looks like the day it rolled off the line.
