Since an older thread where the poster Camshaft said he got 447 miles to a tank of gas in his SC300 (see https://www.clublexus.com/forums/sho...threadid=42629 ), I was determined to see how well I could do.
Driving all highway miles at a cruising speed of no less than 80MPH (except when peeps were taking up both lanes slowly and I had to wait to pass), with the windows and roof open and headlights and foglights on for about the last 4 hours, she got a crazy 453.9 miles out of the tank.
On the next fill-up, we (the GF and I) decided to use the A/C, and still managed to get 432.8 miles out of a full tank.
The car is a stick (which helps slightly on the highway), though it is at 3550 pounds PLUS the 2 of us and our luggage for a week ... needless to say, I was quite impressed!
And the stock gearset is something like 4.13:1, correct?
I can only imagine running these cars at 55-65MPH for a full tank ... one may break the 500 miles mark!
Other than the stock CD changer and amp setup (which has now successfully been relocated, redirecting any stereo upgrade money towards road-racing upgrades), this car continues to keep me completely satisfied .... well, nearly completely satisfied, as another 200 horses would be nice.

Okee dokee ...
MILES-----GALLONS-----MPG
453.9------18.556-------24.46
432.8------18.075-------23.95
215.5--------8.673-------24.85
Obviously I was filling the tank and stem as much as possible to get the most accurate mileage calculations, as the car does not have an 18+ gallon tank.
Oh, and the car has nearly 99K miles on it, which means it runs like new.

Hmmm ... yes, you are right, but I am also confused.
My owner's manual says "78 L (20.6 gal., 17.2 lmp.)".
I get the 78 liters and 20.6 gallons, but what is that "17.2 lmp."?
So hell, I could have kept going until 500 miles after all!!

"Imp" is Imperial Gallons - used in the UK and in Canada before they went metric -
I have put 6200 miles on my '93 SC4 since I bought it April 1 (April Fool - lucky me!) - my best mileage was 26.2 (doggin' it on US1 with my ladyfriend along - if I push it, she won't go), worst was 17.6 (SF city driving and pushin' it hard to impress my cousin - it worked) and have averaged 21.3 mpg.

Over the Memorial Day weekend, I drove home with camping gear, a very large and full ice chest, clothes, tools (you never know) and about 50 lbs. of books that I did not need anymore. With the AC off because it was night time, I got 427 on something close to 16.1 gallons. However, I never got more than 10 mph over and did not drive hard because I was WAY over the possession limit. 3 30 packs and a few odds and ends for the females. Half of the distance was interstate, and the other half was country roads. I figure that since my spark plugs need changing, it should get better. I do have a K&N panel.

Before the WR ECU/Intake I had 15MPG City and 20MPG Highway
After the WR ECU/Intake I have 18MPG City and 23MPG Highway
and yes I gun it all the time(even on the freeway)...
Leaning the mixture really helped. I guess I could get more if I didn't gun it so much but what would be the point in that?

Must be a conspiracy behind those gas pumps.

I was able to squeeze 19.7 gallons in one time. With a tank that holds 20.6, that was cutting it close. I drove 67 miles on the highway with the gas light on.
I notice the needle hits "E" with 5 gallons remaining, then the needle drops below "E" before the light comes on, then when the light comes on, it still has 3.5 gallons left. Talk about safety.

You cannot have more than a case of beer (24) and a gallon of liquor or wine. So, technically 30 packs are illegal, and you cannot have a full keg (15 gallons). However, they sell them. Go figure. Here is a little tidbit for all you Cali people, it will blow your mind.....
We have drive through liquor stores.
That seems to really interest people from California around here for some reason.
