Default LSD for 6sp V160/V161?

Hey everyone, anyone that runs the 6sp tranny in their car know if it comes stock with any form of LSD? or if not can recommend a good LSD to hook up to it. I am having traction problems shifting hard in 2nd when flooring it when the tires brakes loose i can feel one tire spin fast than the other. Let me know thanks!

I don't understand the question. The transmission doesn't have a LSD. You need a MKIV TT auto differential.

Yup.. it'll be the pumkin you need upgrading or just simply put the LSD on the stock differential.

To do it right you need the MKIV TT 6spd diff and the proper driveshaft or your final drive ratios will be all messed up.

You could do that too but is the GS diff & axles as stout as the supra?

the best option for the 6 speed in to do the stock supra tt 6speed pumkin swap... the lsd is pretty beefy from the factory and the ratios will line up perfectly for the 6speed (as if it was a stock supra tt 6speed) however if you want the ultimate then go for the trd (6speed model...not the auto model) into a 6speed pumkin... and you've got the mother of all lsds (however this will require opening a pumkin and swapping out the internals which is precision work that must be done properly. However i'm pretty sure that the stock 6speed diff will handle a massive amount of abuse, alot more than the stock tt auto...

the GS300 axles/diff is just as strong as the Auto Supra TT diff.

But you can always get a MKIV 6MT entire pumpkin gears and all, and drop it in with a new axle shaft, and back half of driveshaft.

This set up will work if you cannot get a hold of the complete 6sd rear as the left axleon that diff is a 1" shorter.

Could just be poor wording, but I'm betting he comes from the front wheel drive world.

i suggested the gs400 for the final gearing is very very close to a 6sp diff and with the ability to add a trd lsd to it , it makes for a very stout rearend

cost wise going full 6sp diff requires new driveshaft, new axles and the actual diff if you can find one

going gs 400 diff means you can use your current driveshaft/axles the only real cost is trd lsd and labor to install into pumpkin

when i do go 6 sp i will be going this route

i thought when you do the 6spd swap in the SC chasis you had to get a custom driveshaft regardless if you use the tt diff or the gs400/ls400/sc400 diff (98-2000)???? please let me know.

Need a longer drive shaft with 6 speed swap.
Shifter will sit about 1 inch shorter and few inches back than 5 speed.

I have used 94 TT differential and RPS single disk clutch & flywheel from my upgrade. Now, I have Carbonetic differential and HKS triple clutch.
Ping me with price if you are interested.
