No More Wood Trim!
I had a local shop pull my wood trim and put in REAL carbon fiber. I'm at work now so I'll post pics later this week. It was kind of pricey but well worth it.

It was about $550 total. Included them removing all the trim, coating it and replacing it. They need to redo the dash piece. Didn't look to good but the doors look awesome.

Is that "Bird's Eye Maple" actually wood, or some sort of plasticine like that used in Infinitys??
I have a crack in mine like it was plastic, and may replace it as well.
Definitely post the pics when you get the chance!

I thought I saw somewhere where some placed a AFC and an AVC in place of the center pics... do they pretty much fit in there perfect? Anyone have the pic I'm talking about...?
P.S. Definately need to get those CF pics up man...

sexinthelex, the guy that put the S-AFC and AVC-R in the centre vents was VeilsideRSPsc, he's since removed them, and no, they don't just drop right in, i'll be doing something similar, with a couple of small changes. As far as the carbon, importtoys has a 5pc carbon fibre kit to replace the wood, contact them or get in touch with Emerald. Oh, and that Bird's Eye Maple is real, but we took delivery of the RX3 last night, and the wood in there seems more 'plasticy' but I was told that was the real deal as well, maybe there's just more epoxy clear on it.

RacerDex, it's REAL wood covered with a thin piece of plastic. Lex Luthor, I don't think the Import Toys CF dash kit is REAL carbon fiber. It's most likely CF stickers like the other companies, and there are many of them.

Hey,
Just an observation about the contingency of 'REAL' vs. 'look-like' CF. But really, does it matter? I understand that real = 10x fake junk. But really....do the properties that make carbon fiber so precious come into play on a DASHBOARD?
My .02
Not saying that I wouldn't want the real stuff over plastic gimmicky junk....but just my input
