1. if you do the 5 speed swap u would wanna go with a r154 an your looking at a grand there alone 2. if you go wit a w58 u most likely will blow the trans & the ge motor(power shifting, & abusing the trans). Don't waste your money i would rather go for full soarer 1jz 5 speed swap which is my goal.
OR
Auto 1jz swap is the cheapest you can go..then do your 5 speed swap later on..

very true, this brings me to my question; do you have money? if so how much do you have? w58 fails very hard. if anything get a r154. secondly why would the engine just blow? if its taken care of it will last forever. if you are looking for an excuse to swap your engine stop beating around the bush and just swap it. all 3 options are hard. na-t is more hands on you have to actually do engine work too. 1jz from a soarer is just a matter of extending a harness. for the main part, dont forget intercooler and fuel pump for all of these engine choices. and for an na-t add, injectors head gasket machine work depending on the head gasket, id machine the head either way once its taken off the block. na-t can add up very very fast. depending on the kit you go with you also have to peice together oil lines and depending on turbo option waterlines as well.

i dont have the money right now but im saving it
im sure i would be able to swap or mod it after several months
i dont have to pay bills or anything
so i still cant figure out what to do haha
first, i was gonna just swap the 1jzgte with 5 speed but then i dont wanna lose that .5 from 3.0 liters to 2.5. then the other idea come out which was swap the tranny then swap the 2jzgte head later on
but still cant decide haha
is w85 really that bad?

If your wanting to make over 350whp and drive the car hard often then you don't want the W58. It's basically a crutch at that point.
I know someone who drives his W58 hard at 400whp and it hasn't broke either...just use Redline mt90 fluid and don't launch the car like it's a ****ing racecar. Driveline shock is what's gonna kill it.
Also, it would pay off to have the trans checked out at a local shop to see if it has any issues before installation.
The W58 is by no means a 'weak' transmission. It does what it's designed to do VERY well.
The 2JZGE will blow if you cheap out on tuning electronics..turn the boost up too much on too big fo a turbo. If you actually blow a 2JZGE, your retarded and it's your own fault entirely.
I sold my 150k mile 2JZGE to a supraforums member and hes making 400+whp...said the engine looked new...but he did his kit up right.

i think the best for me is to swap a 1jzgte into it. since im not gonna race it that much just wanna feel the turbo and hear the BOV sound haha. THat's all i want
but still if i have a 1jzgte in my car, i wanna beat couple car on the street when they try to be cocky u know. not gonna make it a 10 sec car
