Recently acquired a 92 SC400. Love it so far! As my screen name would suggest, I once had a GS300 MY06, and that's when I first joined CL. This would be my 3rd Lexus, the first being a MY02 IS300. I've thoroughly enjoyed all of them so far, and this one is shaping to be a great car.

First, some details...137k miles, and I got it for 5k. Black on Tan...aftermarket double din head unit that I am about to upgrade with the sat and ipod hookup. Paint is in pretty good shape for the age of the car, some nicks and such on the front and hood area and the paint is fading a bit on the roof. Maybe I'll get it repainted eventually, but to be honest, I don't know how long I'll have this car for, so I don't want to invest a whole lot of money. I'm not interested in modding the car too much, probably the only thing will be to either powder coat the current rims black, or if I can find a cheap set of 17 or 18s (preferably black) and stick those on there.

Suspension setups, exhausts, etc...again, more than I want to invest at this time, but perhaps that will all change. I just need it to be a solid daily driver. I have a motorcycle that I've been riding since last May (when I sold my GS) but this rainy weather here lately drove me to buying another car finally. Riding a bike in the rain = no fun.

Since I've bought it, it has developed a strange noise when turning the wheels. Like a whine. Haven't had a chance to take it to get it looked at yet, but perhaps you all can hypothesize on what that might be. I know that without hearing it, it could be a number of things, but I feel that it might be in the power steering somewhere.

Well...that about sums up my intro here....I'm Chris btw. Glad to be a part of the SC fam. The pic is the first and only I have so far...taken in my garage with my iphone...not great, but you get the idea.

Welcome to the SC side of the family. The problem could be bushings or balljoints goin out, or even the rack and pinion going out also. Inspect them all and see if any are broken, cracked, or just plain missing. Good luck and again welcome

I was afraid of that...hopefully it's not something too pricey. Hate to spend a bunch of money on the car in it's first 300 miles with me!
