Who here has rolled / pulled their fenders themselves?

I've done it several times on several different cars. with a baseball bat. it's quite a simple procedure. you can even get yourself a slight pull with a bat, just have to take your time, checking your clearance at each pass you make so you don't overdo it.

Thanks!
From hearing what everyone's said about the horrors of rolling themselves, do you suggest shaving the lip off? to me it seems easier considering i already have a die grinder and what not, i'll just cut off the lip...ehh

I don't recommend shaving the quarterpanels if you're going to pull them. It is made of layered metal and shaving it will expose the layers. I would suggest rolling flat and then pulling them.

Well after Giving it a go w/ my PBM Roller. The STupid Square Cutouts left over from removing the plastic Caps That hold the Blk Rubber Fender liner on the REAR are Causing a VERY Warped Roll/Pull.I'm pissed!
Whats the trick? It would be Perfect except for Thos damn Squares.
trimming the Rear Lip Seems to be the way to go on the backs.
May Have to Trim them off now thats its Rolled to make the Flare Round.

I cut my rear fender lips out which was recommended to me by BoostLogic.
He said it was more dangerous to roll and has seen the rear Lexus/Supra 1/4 panels get wavy or dent in from rolling.
If you cut the lip just don't cut the entire lip out all the way to the fender, because you only need a small portion of the lip out of the way up top.
I fit 285 tires outback with no rubbing.

Any A-hole can roll and pull a fender, the difference is in the results. If you only roll, your results will be marginal/crappy. It will look good from rear view, but it will look like a hack job from a side view. The reason is that the lip has holes for the plastic clips, which variates the structural integrity of the lip. Now when a Do-It-Yourselfer comes to roll, the lip will react differently to the roller, resulting in imperfect arch from the side view. Remember, that's only light rolling. Now if you try pushing the lip further, let alone pulling the fender, the holes will cause waves in your fender. Then it's over.
Best bet is to cut the lip to avoid the f'ing holes, then pull away. It will not affect the integrity of the quarter panels one bit, because they're backed by very solid steel. However, you need to be careful with the front fenders, they're not backed by anything.
I pulled my quarter panels and fenders few weeks ago. I really took my time, and consumed a whole day per panel to avoid warping, and it still happened. Being a perfectionist, i couldn't stand the sight of an imperfect arch. I did body work and i plan on painting soon. Remember, i had to pull more than an inch for the friggin TE37's.

Just do it yourself. If you end up ****ing up it shouldn't cost more then $500 to get it fixed anyways, lol. I did my own on my m3. It's not hard at all, just make sure to heat the paint and not let it cool down too much. It's really easy for the paint to crack.
