Default Some Pics of my video setup

Hey guys, I have some pics posted (they are crappy as hell, but i hope to post better ones soon) of my custom video setup. I have had this setup for a little over 2 years now and love it. I knew I wanted to replace the factory head unit, and it was just when flip out LCD head units were coming out and they were like 2 grand. So I did my entire system for less then $500 bucks, and it includes all types of fun stuff. I tried to make it look factory, let me know what you think.

It looks good! Too bad those pictures are too dark and don't show much detail.

Post some pictures of your keyboard and more closer pictures of the screen.

Default Nice but...

The thing about a flush screen, that I opted not to do is that it is very low and if you're the driver, very dangerous to look down on.

A pop out screen views much higher and is more visible for driving and keeps the drivers pointed more towards the road.

I've had a dvd screen for 3 years now...and I've made a science out of driving and viewing safely(although I do NOT recommend this to everyone).

I think I would not be able to do it w/a flush screen way down there.

It looks great though

Yea, it takes a little bit of getting used to to watch and drive at the same time. Most of the time I just have mp3's going and have the viz running for other people in the car (becing it makes patterns based off the music). But flip out screens also seem to cover up the air controls, which looked to be a problem.

When I get my turbo, I hope to be able to run allt he gauges via the computer so that I can be able to monitor everythign in real time. Guess we will see if its possible =]

Nice system! I have wondered if a good, useable PC based system were possible. Did you build your own PC for this system? I would love to know how you did it all for $500. That sounds like the deal of the century, since most stand alone LCD screens cost over $400, and thats without all the other goodies you have. I agree w/ you about the flip out screens- I don't like the way they cover up the climate controls. I like your solution to that problem.

you bastard..you copied me...j/k i have a flush mount screen in the same location...had it for a year or so now......i love it there...i dont reccommend a flip up because it gets in the way of the A/C controls and the shifter if your 5 or 6 speed .. and no matter what you should never be watching TV and driving.......especially if you have a turbo on the car...you need to pay attention to the road not the TV while driving.....thats worse than talking on a cell phone.......tell the guy you wreck into that you have perfected the art of watching TV and driving...he will love that one Jeff

Hey guys, I am in LA for the week but when I get back to Orlando I will get some better pics and go into detail. I made a custom system and the actuall cost was around 400+cables. Anyone can install it...it just took time to know what componets would stand up to the Florida sun and my driving

Ill be back on saturday
