#19
its true..
ur asking in the SC section..
everybody is going to tell u that go with the SC
IMO.. if u really want a 2 dr turbo GO FOR IT no matter what..
off course check that thing REALLY GOOD..
Make sure the previous owner did it right..
DOnt do it cuz is just boosted if thats the case u can always put an SRT turbo kit into IS and make that thing fly..
like eliteskill said.. my IS is not even practial.. im backwards im using the SC as a practical car =-)

Wow how time flew by.
Just a update I did do it and I miss my IS300 alot! But the SC was worth it.
A very close friend of mines own it now. I have a Sc400
Since the trade the SC has just gone single turbo with a HKS metal headgasket job and full tune up. Megan coilovers, Single HKS exhaust, volk wheels.
Its fast but with all the little nick nacks of the interior of the SC starts to get annoying with the cracking of the seats and the door panels and dash.
Hopefully Ill start getting some pictures up of the two SC up soon.
and yes SC for life!!!!
Everyone and their moms own a IS300 now. Its almost the new civic in Boston with crappy parts and horrible horrible drops to them.

I love SC as well but a 2jzgte VVTi swapped IS 5speed is a real blast to drive. Feels very nimble and real easy to throw sideways. Heck even a 2j N/A 5spd is fun and easy to throw around sideways

Yup the SC is fun but I felt like the trade was about even.
The IS and the SC all have great things about them. Im looking into geting a IS350 as a daily driver and then making the SC400 a weekend car.
Funny how the old car gets more love than the "newer" one. haha

I liked the IS3's when they came out, but then everyone went crazy imitating them and whatnot. And now you see so many of them on the road, IMO they're just not special anymore. Besides, with the fact that so many cars look like each other nowadays in one way or another, there's nothing distinctive about them.
The SC's are a different story, though. With the exception of the SC430, which I despise, this is a future classic and a timeless body style. I see fewer and fewer of them on the road nowadays, and some of them are just awful when I do (I like the poster who complained about an unpainted body kit being an indication of ricing). I say, enjoy the car that should last indefinitely as long as you show it the love it does to you.
