Default recieving sc400 for my first car

my dad is giving me his 1996 sc 400.....it only has 14 thousand miles on it, barely used perfect condition. still has a new car smell in it. i love the style but i wanna make it look a little more modern because the long and thin style seems a little outdated. id like to put a turbo in it too. i have about a 10 thousand dollar limit. i would greatly appreciate any help

With 10 thousand as a limit..you can get plenty done...14 thousand miles is so little though...id try breaking the motor in a little more IMO. Pictures of the car would great.

For updating the looks..Id say some rims that fit your style, some coilovers and HID's and led license plate lights and its a start. As far as your turbo project I dont know much about turbos on the 400s..its been done successfully. Im sure one else on here can help you more with that.

What are you talking about? Fourteen thousand miles of daily driving is WAY more than enough miles of breakin.

Honestly, if I were OP, I would sell the car for quite a nice price, and pick up a good condition Sc300 shell and put the 10k into that; your car could be really nice if you did that.

It would be a shame to put ten thousand dollars worth of mods into that pristine car only to wreck it due to more power than skill; assuming you are still a youngin.

Lol

You're lucky. Post pics of the car so we could drool over its uber-low miles.
I agree with the earlier posts. Rims, Coilovers, Exhaust to start you off.

I agree 100% . I was reading this last night and thinking how sad it was that this car is getting ready to be ruined . If you have 10k and want an SC that bad, get another one and mod it. Leave that car alone.

Sig of the night

Leave the car as it is. If you were to sell, it'll be worth more stock than if it was modded the hell out.

Pfft... 'sif you can't!

Babyseat in rear passenger's seat and slide the front passenger's seat all the way forward.

(Just hope you don't need to do groceries as well lol).
