Default Motor Mount replacement

I have a sc400 and i just ordered new motor/tranny mounts... the tranny mount looks pretty simple but now im stuck thinkin about what i should do to lift my engine a few inches to replace the motor mounts... Ive figured a way to lift it or actually lift the car up support the engine(I do not have a cherry picker) and lower the car down. Has anyone done it this way? and i was just wondering what experiences you've had with doing it without a cherry picker. to the ones that have should i worry about wires, hoses, or anything else that would get in the way of the engine being lifted JUST ENOUGH TO REPLACE THE MOUNTS.

Lift the front and put it on jack stands... Use a floor jack underneath the engine (usually the oil pan) with a 2x4 wood.

Should i be worried about things gettin cought up on the engine like wires, hoses, or anything else? Im waiting on motor mounts to come in and should be here in a few days... i plan to do what you said about lifting it from the oil pan with a floor jack and 2x4. I guess my main question is will the engine lift up with ease as long as i have it supported correctly?

Yes. It should be ok. The only way to find out is when you actually do try it
