Everyone doesnt get cars that are "rare." I guess it boils down to what the individual wants and the availability of the other option. How often are 97 5 speeds available? How often are 98-00 400's available? My guess is the latter is much easier to find, and the former in the case looks to be in EXCELLENT condition and it has fairly low miles. Believe it or not, some of us aren't concerned about image. Who really cares if someone can't tell if your car is rare or not? I giveth not thy d@mn about someone elses feeling towards my car as long as I know what I have and I like it. I honestly don't get what difference it makes, but to each his own. Good thing some men don't have to walk around with their package out, that might really perpetuate a feeling of inadequacy.

And I'll ASSume your down syndrome reference was an attempt at humor. It comes off as anything but and is quite possibly the most ridiculous thing I've read since the hood scoop thread.

So you just proved my point, the only point in getting a 97+ 5sp is for the rare factor, and like i said it doesnt matter if its rare or not (thats the point i was getting at). So why pay the extra $$$ for it. Keep the sc400 (or sale) and get a older year cheaper most likely found in decent condition sc300 5sp and pocket the cash for mods or beer.

9k for a 5sp is not worth it unless its turbo'd

lmao marshall...yeah i guess im gonna have to go for the sc300 mainly b/c it has low miles vs the supra and seems a lot cleaner and I checked the carfax and it only has 2 owners with no accidents. Also sorry guys but I do sort of like the fact that it is rare

As do I my man. It appears my point didnt really hit home, I guess thats why Kenny said you need to know when to fold them. I think its uber cool to have 1 of 120 of ANYTHING that had a 9 year production run. Excellent find and good luck with it

To each his own, I was into the whole 97 BLK/BLK 5SPD rareness till I realized it wasn't worth paying the premium for it. They sure are sexy though

But with the 98-00. you get that 290hp

You want to gain HP I would consider running OBD1 pre 96 year cars for turbo n such less headaches

Same thing with supras hate em looks wise. Only thing good is the engine!

If just comes down to if you want Manual or Auto imo. I would keep the sc400 and buy a pre 96 5sp sc300 to turbo.
Sounds like short man's syndrome

If your sc400 was black on black, keep it. Since its not. Still keep it. Sorry I'm biased. Lol
