Default What is about our cars?

I have to admit I didn't understand the following the SC had before I got my 93 5 Speed. Now here I am a year later and I can't imagine my life without it. I occasionally use my moms 03 MR2-Spyder, my dads Cadilac, my friends 91 integra, 09 Civic SI, it's all different but not in anyway equal. everything pales in comparison to my SC and I don't understand why. Is it psychological, or is there something about the SC that makes it so special?

I'll be the first to admit that there are things that the other cars do better, IE: the MR2s handling or the Devilles power, but at the end of the day I feel like the SC300 is just a much better car. I don't know. just a thought I had after I spontaneously had to go for a ride at 2am just to feel the SC300

I'm 2 months away from going 2JZGTE 6speed swap and I know it'll make it an even greater driving experience. I'd love to get some thoughts but hell it just felt nice to say how much I love my car

It's 'cause they're so sexy.

I love my Subaru, but everytime I see it, I can't help but wish it were sexy like an SC or a MKIV Supra or FD3S. Despite the fact that you spend your time inside where you can't see how awesome it is, you know it's there.

THIS is what I feel. It's not a super asphalt ripping beast (at least not stock) and it's not a super corner carving go kart, and it's not the most luxurious coupe, but it's got more of those things all put together than most coupes.

its this exact feeling that makes me so indecisive about putting money into my car. Some days i'll keep it forever regardless of other cars I'll get and others I ask myself what's the point.

Like others have said, its definitely not the best in any category alone, but ranking HIGH up in EVERY category is what makes it what it is. Every car lacks some things here and there, but all I know is that I'm only 19 cruising around in a near mint sc400 and loving, by loving I mean LOVING my ride.

I agree. That's what originally attracted me to the platform. There's a certain intangible quality about these cars that really draws you in though, I think Car and Driver does a good job explaining it here...

The ride is comfortable yet sporty enough. The proportions of the car just look perfect. The look may be a little dated now but still, nothing on the road before or after even looks remotely similar to it. They never sold them in huge numbers that they became so common place that the novelty of seeing one never wore off. It was technologically advanced enough when first introduced that it still has novelty features that surprise people (telescoping/tilt steering, auto seat forward for rear seat access, LCD rearview dimming, etc). I've had my SC for 16.5 years and I still love driving it. Oh, and its built solid where I've had minimum drivability issues throughout the years. I love this car.

Swapped 6sp and it didnt make me love the car more than I had before.

Main reason was the car even in BPU form doesnt produce the power I was use to in a previous car I owned. If you are use to 400whp+ cars you wont get anything extra from the GTE 6sp without a major turbo upgrade.

If you are not use to turbo cars then you are going love it!
