I would put the IAT sensor in the plastic part of the intake to avoid heat soak from the aluminum TB. As for the IAT, post up a wanted ad on supraforums.com. I ordered both the iat and jdm map sensor the other day for less than $100 from someone there.
currently looking for the resistors for the o2 heater, I already have a good sized heat sink, just need to make a braket, get my FFIM finished up and it should be running in a few weeks..just moving slowly, may have a C5 taking some space in my garage soon.

Im having a little trouble finding a jdm iat sensor
it the only thing i need left
any body got anywhere that can sell good jdm parts
also im looking into where to put the MAP and IAT Sensors
i know theres a vacuum line under the plenum somewhere i havent really looked into yet
but my real question is what place should i put the IAT
the pic is of the stock intake now when i do this im guna do a BFI and make some piping
i think itd be easier to drill into that piping (yellow) then the other piece (red) i pointed out idk what it is exactly just part of the throttle body
anyway let me know what you think

Normally this line runs from the manifold to the power steering idle up switch (on the PS reservoir). you don't really need this and you can take both hoses off the switch, put vacuum caps on them, and use the open spot on the manifold for the Map sensor. the second hose from this switch goes to a hardline which crosses the front of the block and connects to the intake piping via another hose. you can take that hose off and cap the intake pipe.
the hardpipe does not need to be capped if you take care of both sides, its a good line to use if you want to run a line to your BOV thats on the other side of the engine though.
(Update) I have actually put back in my power steering vac hoses and the car responds much better now, I no longer recommend doing this unless you don't care about the variable power steering working properly. just T some other lines together to free up a spot and use that one.
As for the IAT, if you are turbo put it in the I/C piping just before the throttle body and away from the turbo housing as possible.
If you are n/a you can put it in the intake pipe basically anywhere before the throttle body.

you are correct, the TT injectors will not fit on the ge fuel rail, they are side feed vs top feed.
you will need 440cc injectors off a mk3 turbo 7m-gte or 550cc injectors of a turbo II rx-7.
those are more or less a direct swap. the mk3 turbo injectors require a resistor pack, the rx-7 ones do not.

ah ok, that clears it up because i was bit confused based in the first post when you said "injectors: 440cc (JDM) or 550cc (US)" i thought you meant we could use the 440cc injectors that came off of the jdm/aristro or 550cc usdm tt injectors. but i got it now.

I see why you were confused now, those are just the original ecu's injector size information and you wanna try and match with similar size.
The 2jz-ge rail cannot use 2jz-gte injectors. It would be nice if we could because they are so cheap to pick up.
Im personally using the 550cc rx-7 injectors and they have worked great for me so far, i sent them off to WitchHunter Performance and they cleaned them up real nice.

honestly ive never even seen a 97 ecu, so i dont even know if the connector is the same with the odb1 ones, and even if it is you would loose your odb2 stuff (not good for emissions).
Maybe the VVTI gte ecu has the same connector, not really sure
VVTI GTE ecu is probably the only bet to have 1 stock ecu controlling everything and being odb2 compliant (even if the plugs are different you can make a jumper harness).
If you dont care about loosing odb2, you could just run an odb1 sc300 harness and odb1 GTE ecu (or AEM).
people who dont have to worry about emissions do this and run an AEM, same principle.
I have heard of odb2 cars using the stock ecu for all the main stuff, and controlling the injectors and ignition off of another ecu (normally an aem but again you can also use an odb1 gte ecu). This setup retains the stock stuff but give you proper fuel and timing.
the main problem with this method is alot of wiring is involved.
only reason i know of this is cause alot of IS300's run dual ecu's at first so check that out in your searches. an easier alternative to this is to just run the stock ecu + an FIC which is a piggyback that basically does the same thing, sends its own signal to the injectors and coils.
