From the SC3 and SC4 to the 430...and these cars used to be so pretty

Ya IMO 430 is , I mean if I was given one itd be cool but I'd sell it rite away for a SC3!
Rims do Alooot for a car, and I mean in 92 there weren't any good OEM wheels really, now a days every car come with at least 17"-20"

SC430 is only ugly because of those pizza pan wheels that came with the car. The later years received nicer wheels, taillights, etc.
Given an SC430 and an SC300/400, I'd take the 430 and never look back. The interior is 10x better looking and higher quality, and the drivetrain is smoother.
As far as VVTi and such, who the hell cares it they got 'rcrappy' rods. Most buyers aren't modding them so there is no compelling reason for Toyota to keep those rods. The VVTi rods are enough to handle a good amount of power and by the time you need more, you're probably going to throw them out anyways. From a business perspective, Toyota did the right thing.
In stock form, only the 04+ SC430 and 97+ SC look decent. The earlier years for both 1SC (esp 92-94) and 2SC are butt ugly. There I said it

i think they are both nice looking cars and the reason i have an sc400 is because i cant afford an sc430 if i could i would trade my sc400 anyday of the week for one of those...come on guys we have to give it up for sc430's.....

I love the sc430, head over to their little slice of club lexus and check out how they are doing it. One guy just finished an amazing widebody conversion. The only bad thing about them is the price. The aftermarket is crazzzzzzzy expensive for them. If I could I would have my sc400 with twins as a fun bad a** car and a 430 for awesome vip cruisin'!

man sometimes is not about what you drive is about what your car looks like.... i could spend 60,000 dollars on a car because of it name and if is ugly it doesnt mean im hold it down, but again i could spend 5,000 dollars on a car and if i give it a real nice look belive me i will be hold it down much more than you......

.....And because you couldn't afford anything else?
I always think it's funny when people who don't have any money try to justify their cheap cars by saying it's so superior to something newer or nicer.
I love my car, but it's old, and there are many other cars I'd rather have.
That said, my SC400 was my first car and I've kept it over the other 5 cars I've had in a few years. I'll probably have it forever due to sentimental reasons and will just add on to my ownership list.
