From the SC3 and SC4 to the 430...and these cars used to be so pretty
Is it just me or is Lexus actually taking steps back when it comes to the SC? First they went with crappy rods on the 2J when they went VVTi and now they have made the SC430 which is well just plain ugly compared to the SC300 and SC400. I chose the 92 Lexus SC300 for 3 reasons.....It was toyota's first attempt at a luxury sport coupe and they nailed it. It had the overengineered 2JZ engine, and It looked and continues to look absolutely beautiful. It is actually the only Lexus I would consider owning. If I had a SC430 I would trade it for 2 SC300's and a SC400. Close 2nd is the IS300 but still do not have as much respect for that version of the 2JZ. That's all.

i dont know about that guys i have to say i love sc430's and i wish i owned one i dont think they are nicer than sc300/400 but i think they are sweet cars and deserve a lot of props i mean you still find 2001's for around 21,000.00 these thing dont loose value at all and over all they are all brothers....

I don't mind the 430 with the top down, but with the top up it looks retarded. They should've sold a hardtop version with a fastback or something. I can't stand the area where the c-pillar meats the trunk area. It just looks.....wrong.

I don't find the 430 ugly, though I wish it was a straight up coupe instead of a hardtop convertible. Wouldn't mind owning one, but if I did I would probably have the hardtop's motor removed and the hardtop welded so it'll be a fulltime hardtop. I'm not a big fan of the 430 with the top down.

sc430's aren't bad, they are really no different then 1st gen SC's where in a way, you just have a bad image of old people and women driving them around, just like SC where before the prices dropped and people started doing swaps and wheels and all that stuff, and you finally took notice to them..
SC430's aren't the best looking in bone stock form, but a 92 sc300 doesn't look all that great stock IMO either, need like some wheels, drop, maybe a lip.
also SC430's should have had a manual option as well..
probably some nicer examples then these, but just grabbed them real quick, with a couple mods, 430's are really nice. I had a GS430, and loved the 3uzfe.

I didn't like the SC430 until I saw it in person. I love them now and the interior is pretty nice. The SC300/400 looks better if it's dropped with some wheels or a 97-00. It's almost like Lexus didn't care about the SC430 since they never did any major updates to it like the other models.
