hello it does not say advanced or retarted . I am getting my timing belt replaced hopefully it will fix the sputtering problem mentioned above. Any suggestion as if the two teeh jump can cause a timing problem at 2500 sputtering? thank you

wires, spark plug changed , coils checked , the timing belt jumped two teeth so can that be causing the sputtering at around 2500 k rpm it idles perfect and runs with power until 2500 - 3000 rpm underload that is when it sputters and does not really accelerate.

please get back with any advice.

p.s. i am getting timing belt done today thank you !

I ran into the same problems with my SC.....the result for me was a Faulty Hydraulic Tensioner. This causing the timing to jump and the cams were all out of wack. Once this was resolved. Ran like a champ

You should've replaced that timing belt towards the beginning of this - you said it was all cracked out of whack. As the engine increases in revs, the timing gets faster and faster obviously. If your timing is off, it will definitely show as you rev up- when you find something is definitively wrong, replace that then go forward with things you think might be wrong.

So please, before you do anything else to your car and go on the speculation of anything in this thread- replace that timing belt!

I'm curious if it ever got done- I this is was from a while back and the last post was that the timing belt was getting replaced. I'm willing to bet that fixed it
