Default Anybody Drop Tranny Fluid Pan?

If so, what was needed.. I got the fluid.. Will i need a filter of some sort, or a gasket? Trying to change shift solenoids.

I just dropped the pan 3 days ago. There is a filter that is held on by 3 bolts attached to the valve body. You can either pick up one from toyota or Autozone sells them as well for $20. The filter from autozone comes with a rubber gasket, but if you get it from the dealer you will need to pick up some fipg as well.

The pan is held on by orange FIPG.

1. Take the 19 bolts out holding the pan in place

2. either get the SST or u can use a putty knife to cut the gasket apart. The pan is held on very well and you dont want to damage the lip, so becareful

3. once the pan is down clean ALL The FIPG from both pan and the transmission, DO NOT use a paint scrap.....again careful not to remove the paint or damage the groove on the pan.

I would recommend getting a gasket remover to help you remove it. Make sure the inside of pan is clean of all debris and carefully check the magnets and oil for metal and brass shavings.

Also when putting the pan back up in place make sure you use a torque wrench on the 19 bolts so you don not warp the gasket and pan.

I will post up the direction from the manual if you would like

i did it on the SC300, but they share the same transmission pan pretty much..........as for the shift solenoids, I'mnot sure if the locations are the same or not
