SC400 VS. Mustang GT quarter mile :)
Ok, so my friend Will( who is also my ex boyfriend from about 10 years ago) has this Mustang GT he's had for about 2 years now.. I think its like 2004? I have had my SC4 for a month and a half now (no time for upgrades as of yet) His car = about 430 HP
mine = about 230 HP if the clogged cats aren't sucking the life outta it..:
I finally convinced him it was time for this freshman to get some action
I totally knew the outcome before it even happened..
We chose a straight away spot (in some rural town) - on this windy road thats cracked and frost heaved to crap.. about a half mile down past the sheriffs residence (of course its midnight on a monday so everyones sleeping)
We lined up and 3..2..1..
Will floored his mustang and peeled his tires off for about 12 feet ...
I floored it with the traction control off in regular drive
and my friend told me I should have started in low gear and shifted up through the gears properly as it revved and I might have stand a chance The mustang obviously won with about 2 car lengths ahead of me :P
It was definitely the funnest 1/4 mile Ive ever driven though - even if it was a joke and Will laughed his *** off at me

My SC400 with cat back exhaust ran with a 2004 GT with intake n exhaust and kept it neck and neck then lost 1/4 car length. Great race! I personally see no problem with having a little fun here and there ONLY when its perfectly safe.

Thats it...i doubt he is putting out 430hp. Was it dyno'd or is he just claiming that. Especially if he is stock, unless its supercharged. Even then stock supercharged roots blowers don't do that stock on that big 3" pulley on there. If he dropped to a 2" then maybe. I'm guessing 300hp at the crank, maybe 260-280 ish at the wheels. Especially if he only beat you by 2 lengths. If it truly was 430hp even with a crappy driver he would have beaten you by much more!
