I did this mod tonight. It only took about a half an hour's time. We'll see how well it worked. I was having the same starting issue.

Default no cam sensor in pre 96 sc300

Should have stated I have a 1995 sc300, so cam sensor comes from distributor. There are no codes being thrown, but stalling problem just as every describes. Wanted to see if there was any way to ck sensors without changing distributor.

Some Mechanics wanted to charge me like 500 dllrs to fix it. But Guess what the 12volt mod did the trick... like a month ago and it runs really good now...Believe me it was a night mare to get stuck in traffic.
I will go back to them to say F...k your 500 dllrs fix.

When you say it's not "throwing codes" did you actually do the diag test or is it just not displaying a CEL? It's a common misnomer that you have to see a CEL to have any codes. Many codes don't trigger a full time CEL as their only intermittent, but the codes are stored in the ECU for a certain number of cycles. So if you haven't yet, do the diag test to get any possible codes stored in the ECU.

Default stalling

When it stalls, the cel comes on, but there are no codes. I had mechanic check it as well...no codes. We did find the ohms resistance on distributor sensor was higher than it should be on all pins. Also, the sensor harness ground wire was loose. We tried pulling the ground out with the car in drive, but it did not stall. We did check continuity back to ecu, and all was good.
Mechanic thinks it's cam sensor issue and w.ants to replace the distributor. I'm hopefully that's will solve problem.
