Yep what he said. Imo the only one to get is the 03 type s. U dont have the tranny problems plus it makes 260hp and a lsd.

But personally i would stick with the sc.

Agreed! The CL-S is nice and very quick but unless you can find a manual one, I wouldn't even bother with that or the TL (and this is coming from a guy who's had nothing but Honda's/Acura's his whole life). Granted you can probably find an auto that's been taken care of but why risk it? It'll be like a ticking time-bomb. Also, not sure about your area, but around here the CL is a dime a dozen and I've probably seen 3 SC's in the past year.

Well this is a lexus forum so you know what to expect. My opinion keep your sc or look for a different car that is rwd. FWD really does suck. Torque steer will kill the driving experience.

LOL what?

As long as you get a manual version of any TL, you should be good. I wouldn't get an auto of that generation regardless.

As for the car itself, it's damn nice. Wouldn't mind having one in black

The quality of a 99 SC far surpasses the quality of am 01-03 CL.

they actually have recalls for the auto tranny's and if the recall hasnt been done already, you can go to your local dealer for a new free tranny...

Well if you like the car, you like the car. Styling is all perspective. I have a friend who thinks Golf GTI's are sexy looking. Me personally, I could tell you front wheel drive would be reason enough for me to scratch Acura off my list.

I grew out of my training wheels back in High School

I've heard that with recall they will replace tranny with the same flawed one.

All I can say is don't do it. Because of my 01 cl type S. I probaly will never purchase another Acura vehicle. The tran has been replaced 4 times. The motor is excellent but the trans just suck. Find an old G35 or something else.

imo for the amount ur going to spend on a CL-S u can afford gettin a 1JZ swap which is alot faster than a CL-S and gets like 26 mph in the high way, replace everything that could b wrong wit ur SC, get painted, put system and DVD player with Navi and i bet ull still have some change instead of gettin a CL-s and it'll feel newer

I totally agree! It's hard to beat a clean modded SC.

By the way flipboi, how is that 1JZ? Is a lot quicker than the regular 2JZ?

Mine is 99 plus I live in CA, so boosting it or swap is out of question...
