mortal, you don't think it will hold a couple more on the stock HG? i've always heard you should be okay pushing 10 or less psi on the stock HG..

W58s work great if you don't plan on slamming gears or launching the car..

R154's are a small step up.

Just one, this is the second, of course the first one didn't last long when the boost was upped. The second is still going strong, but under a lot less boost. The w58 will make the 450 on the dyno, but keeping it together is the tricky part. Ill get a r154 eventually..

I'm not saying it wont hold or that its not "okay" but...you don't want to fall into HG leak problems or even blowing them. 10psi is definitely pushing it for someone like me whose a daily driver on my car. The life of the car @10psi def wont be as much as my 7psi. Im not saying how much longer it would last but theres a difference for sure. Your better off just doing HG and studs and enjoy taking it up to 14-16psi whenever you want with no problems! (Just dont launch on 1st gear =) )

Thanks for the shout out Jad! Your car performed very well and made great power for not even having a boost controller hooked up!!!

For what its worth, we've run plenty of cars on stock head gaskets up to 12-14psi on pump with an EMS and careful tuning.

Also, we have plenty of customers running 450whp on w58's without issue.

Yep, going to do another one next week with a W58. Part of it is how you drive it, part of it is luck of the draw. Anything under 400 and it isn't worth worrying about, 400-450 be "conscious", and past that it is luck of the draw.
