Default Update on HID headlight and foglights 4100K Hellas

Okay..I had a change of heart, and swapped my 7000K (Blue) Hella modeled bulbs for my HID kit and ballasts and changed them to 4100K (WHITE) bulbs.

I swapped my yellow halogen fogs for my original HID foglights w/ballasts from Eagle One. I swapped the insides w/Hella stuff as well.

Here are the picts:

This is the picture of the 4100K HID fogs and lowbeams.
BLINDING white light.

This is a picture of the foglights on the floor. Very bright output

This is a picture of the lowbeams on the floor. Very bright output.

This is a picture of the fogs and lowbeams 30 feet away from the wall. This shows the even cut off line and bright output.

Default Looks like a freight train doesn't it?

I guess that's why I liked the blue color better because it was a diff look and wasn't as bright as these..but I'm beginning to remember liking the whole freight train down the highway look.

Lex400sc? Does the cut off line look okay? You convinced me to change back to 4100K bulbs for my hid kits for the lows AND for the foglights. I guess pure white light is the way to go.

Good choice Anthracite SC. Even though I love the color of the 7000K(Blue) Hellas, going with the increased Lumens of the 4100k was a good idea. Honestly as much as I like the Hellas I don't think I could go to them because I have become so accustomed to the OEM 4100k HID's in my car:eek:

Default Thanks

Yeah, I missed the "freight train" effect the HID fogs and HID lowbeams had w/4100K bulbs in it.

The Hellas were cool..but in any sort of foggy weather u could tell u lost light and lumens.

Did any cops hassle you over your bright lights yet?

Default No they don't

Actually cops don't hassle me at all.

My lights look like stock HIDs and they are also on a lexus. If I had them on a Honda..well then that would be another issue. =)

Actually my other car is a honda and I have HIDS on there too..but no harassments either.

The camera bleeds the light so it's not actually as bright as the picture shows
But it IS BRIGHT ..don't get me wrong.
On 101 and 280 it's like a freight train going down the road. And my lights actually take up 3 lanes on the highway..not just mine.

One thing that happens to me a lot though is that oncoming traffic sometimes give me that high beam signal...where they flash their high beams at me.

I guess they think I have my high beams on. So in turn, I flash my REAL high beams on and it always leaves them puzzled cuz they thought it WAS my high beams they were flashing about. =)

it's fun...

Default It's an HID kit

Jeff,

I'm not sure what you mean by bolt on for the low beams.

The lowbeams are a direct replacement for the stock 9006 bulbs.
But instead of higher wattage colored bulb replacements...

These are HID kits...including a replacement bulb, socket, which connect to a ballast that then connects to your car battery.

The foglights were originally a true HID foglight. I orignally cracked one of them from a rock on the road. It took me a year to find the manufacturer and get the replacement housing.
I put in a diff set of ballasts, bulbs and socket. It's a universal fit.

THis just mounts in my grill.

It takes about 30minutes to install everything...lights and foglights. REALLY easy.

1thousand for both the foglights and the headlights would be the going rate these days. 500 separately..if you wanted to do the headlights only or the foglights. Installation costs will vary according to who u go to.

hope that answers your questions. Let me know if there's anything else I can provide.

Yeah I agree it looks like a bright white, not seeing any yellow in your headlight pics either. Heres my OEM 4100k's.
