Default re-invent the wheel...IS200 x COROLLA

Well, with 97 tails now the only thing left that looks outdated on my sc is the steering wheel imo.

I wanted a rx300 wood grain wheel but thats harder to find. And I didnt want to wait for the wheel and airbag to pop up. It was also $$$ pricey. I didnt want to go with the es cause I cant stand the wood grain not matching. I also wanted a stage 1 without modding.

So I went the is300 route. I think this wheel is nice for the sc, the sc is a sports car , so it fits well. I didnt want the e shift buttons and finding a manual model wheel was hard, and pricier. I found one and was gonna pull the trigger but changed my mind. So I opted for a corolla s wheel for a cheaper price. basically the same wheel as the is300, but with perforated sections like the stock new gen sc300 and gs rx wheels. My corolla wheel has no hole for the cruise control switch bar so i'm not gonna have a cruise control switch, i don't use it anyways.

The airbag is really from a is200 I got shipped from overseas. I got a good price, and is basically the same as the is300. The is200 wheel/aribag configuration on some models looks actually the same as what I have now with perforated sections.

Thanks to others who did this before me. Made put this setup together easy after searching on the forum and reading. I also got the harness adpator so it should be a easy swap. Cant wait to put this in! only thing bothering me is the airbag has minor tiny scratches, but is still in waaay better condition than my stock wheel.

More pictures in better quality when installed.

The harness adapter works great.. only problem it adds a lot of bulk behind the wheel... so putting it on is a little harder, but worth not cutting up your wiring.

Did it have to come from Japan? I ordered mine a year or 2 ago and it took 2 months to come from Japan.

I actually ordered it from l-tunedparts.com / carson toyota. They have it in stock. I was gonna have it shipped but just drove down there myself. Its 45 mins away from my home.

I did this but with a Matrix XRS wheel since it has a hole for cruise control.

I was looking for a mr2, matrix, celica, or rav 4 wheel also. Coulnt find any in clean shape for a good price. Im thinking I could cut a hole in the side of the cover for the cruise control. Or swap our only the cover for one that has it. My firend drive a corolla and he had this wheel with a cruise sqitch. I dont know why this wheel didnt have one.

I don't have to come from Japan anymore. I ordered mines last week and received it in three days. SPX a Toyota Tool company sells them now.

i installed the wheel today. Only problem is the horn. I basically remove the harness/plug for the cruise control and horn.

The new wheel had a horn wire but which prong do I connect it to on the plug on the clock spring?

Can someone tell me what number from the photos below?? Im thinking of cutting the plug off from the green wire, and extend the wire. Then put a single connector on the wires end that would fit over prong. Lastly pluggin the connecter/clamp to what ever prong you guys say it is. This should make the horn work right?

Any help would be great. Thanks

which prong is for the horn?
