Default Why is our trunk so tiny?

What the hell is in between the rear seat and the trunk area?
I think SC 3/400s are pretty large for a coupe, but the trunks are so tiny-a$$ed that I can barely fit in my golf clubs.
Is it possible to expand the trunk area by removing all the stuff in between the rear seat and the trunk wall?

if you can figure out a way to get around without a gas tank, go for it

If you removed the 20-gallon gas tank in between the trunk and seat, removed the spare tire, and fit in a 10-15-gallon fuel cell, you'll get as much trunk space as a GS400. But then you run into other problems...

This question does not really deserve an answer!

Go and buy a POS sedan then you can fit you golf clubs, the family and half of NY in your trunk.

You can get a smidge more room with the divider between the gas tank and trunk removed, and there's some usable storage area up by the strut towers for small stuff....but it looks like hell with the partition out.

Aight....I admit it...

Darn stupid question...

But thanks for the inputs. At least I learned something new today.
