My Name is John and I own a SC400
Hi,
My name is John and Like many of you in this section I own an SC class Lexus. Mine was a Lexus SC400 from 1994 pearl white 2jz engine from Supra with a Single turbo swap. I've come here not knowing what to do. I spent 14,000 on this car since lets face it they are hard to come by. It had a carbon fiber hood front bumper and the 2JZ engine. I traded in a 06 Mercedes Benz for this car because, I believed that it was worth the in the long run. The car has 145,000 miles on it the engine only has 5,000.
The problem is two days after I bought the car I was in an accident. The accident bent my front tire in murdering my suspension and there is a fluid that leaked that has no smell to it. I lost my bumper, fender, wheel, and I'm sure my drivers side suspension is destroyed because the car won't steer. My insurance company not knowing that value of this beauty has given me only 5,000 for the car. That's about 9 grand less than I spent on it. That being said. I've come here for help from those who are loyal to this brand to tell me what the do. I was allowed to buy the rights to the car I own it. It's mine and I don't know what to do with it. I mean do sell the engine in it or do I bring back to life. The dealer I got it from said he could sale the entire car and get about 7 to 8 grand for it because of all the engine work. So I'm asking what should I a new owner do. Take the 5,000 Grand let the dealer sail the car so I walk away with 12,000-13,000 or can I save this car. The damage was Isolated.

Banikid I know that the sc400 comes with the V8 however, what I'm saying is that engine in mine was swapped out and replaced with a SUPRA 2JZGTE. I'm not mistaken I'm 100% that is the case and when I get the car back so I can take pictures of the engine I will post them. I''m not mixed up or confused I just want some advice. My car has a freaking 2jzgte with twin turbo being swapped a big greddy singe turbo kit.

I say fix it, and get it back on the street ASAP. I wouldnt take that kind of hit on it, since you have invested so much time and money in it. Lets see some the wreck and the motor swap..

Well my Commonwealth brethren, I'd get every dime I could out of the car and start over fresh. By the time you put thousands more into fixing what is now essentially a salvage car I think you'd be better off.
Oh yeah, and

all it needs is a bumper fender and looks like control and or tierod end.... why part out a wonderful machine when with that 5k check prolly 4k after buyback you could fix it parts 300 or so and paint+bodywork 1000 give or take. you could have some money in your pocket and a FRESH PAINTJOB with no dent or dings etc. as long as you know some guys to help with hookups such as a body guy
