Seatbelt warning light won't go away
I changed seats in my 93 400 months ago, but now I'm finally getting tired of the seatbelt warning light. I got the seats from a guy with less than savory car practices and when he removed them to install Sparcos, he just cut the wires from the seatbelt receiver harness to the main seat harness. I have the intact harness on the end of the seatbelt receiver from my old seats, and a little bit of wire from the harness that plugs into it, but I can only find 1 cut wire in the seat's main harness. I didn't see the other wire cut anywhere at all so I figured it was a common ground of some sort, so I soldered a longer wire to the 1 wire I did find, fired up the car, and grounded that wire and nothing...the warning light is still on.
Has anyone had a problem like this before? I would fool around with it some more but I don't have time before work. The wire I did find is white with a black tracer, and the other wire is blue/black. I saw the blue/black wire in the harness near where the cut was, but it was a solid wire, not cut at all. I guess my next move is to jumper the two wires together at the main harness on the floor of the car that plugs into the seat's main harness, but I don't know if that other wire is shared on something else, which would cause it not to function properly.
Any info someone could give me would be appreciated.
