Sometimes it’s best to not fight the manufacturer. They knew what they were doing when they designed the system. Adding more Nakamichi subwoofers just seems logical to me. And the reality is, I have a system at home for the most demanding of listening. I don’t need my car to replicate my home setup. I just want it to sound clear and perform “well”. I think this basic system design will achieve those goals easily.

If I find the 4” door speakers to be inadequate, I think I’ll increase to 5 1/4” drivers in the same ported enclosure from stock and whatever that result yields is probably where I’ll stop.

I need as much money as I can spare for the engine build lol
