Taillight Discoloration
Hello! In the future I would like to upgrade my taillights to the 98-00 model type. I think that they are very nice looking and will most likely spend some good money to get them. BUT, from looking at pictures lately, I've seen that the clear part tends to become discolored and very faded looking. If I got the taillights and this happened to me I think that I would be pretty ticked off. But why does this happen?? Can you prevent it?? Doesn't it drive you nuts! Haha, thanks in advance.

Here's a pic to give you an idea of what I'm talking about if you do not know already:

Personally, I wouldn't swap...
....while I like the agressive front ends of the newer SC's, I prefer the simple uncluttered arrangement of the older tail lights.
The newer ones look busier, and makes the illuminated areas smaller. Just my opinion, of course....

Well the discoloring comes from oxidation and other things you don't see normally. Like when you wash your car, you probably clean everything but your headlights & taillights.
If you take some swirl remover from 3M or any good wax, try polishing your headlights & taillights, you'll see the stuff that comes off on your terry cloth.
I think the newer 97+ taillights look ok, I'd rather have the 95-96. I have the 92-94 taillights so if anyone wants to trade for their 95-96, let me know!

Here's the 95-96 style Tony is talking about- let's get some SWAPPING going!
I'll post the 92-94 style in the next post below...
