Taking the back seat metal plate out, make a big difference in the sound? I have always wondered that, just never thought I would do it, cause I have people ride with me. I didnt want them to fall backwards or cut into the gas tank. How much clearance is back there form the gas tank? or behind the piece of metal?
It makes a huge difference. I have a Rockford 12" P3 and an Alpine MRP-M500 in my trunk and you could barely hear it unless the windows were down and the trunk was open before I took out the metal sheet. Now it gets crazy loud in the cabin, especially with the windows down. You may need a crowbar to get that sheet of metal out though....

The only parts I had to buy was 1 500/1, lights, Battery, and misclaneous crap. I had the 4 subs and the amp chillin' in my garage. They charged me 1800 for the work +1 JL 500/1 and the custom box and amp rack install.

Btw if you are in South Texas take your stuff to Custom Sounds. They do top notch HQ work.

On the metal plate behind the seats: if taking out the factory sub made as huge a difference as it did then taking out the plate which is easily 4x the size should help alot. The seats should have enough support. I doubt it would cave in.

As for people stealing ****? I have a really expensive security system called an expert marksman badge.
I wish I was in the area. I'm usually in the Dallas/Fort Worth and Oklahoma City area. If you haven't taken out the metal plate yet, it'll make a huge difference even with the factory sub out. Give it a shot if you get the time. I pulled on that thing for over an hour and finally got it out.
