My wife was the deciding factor in my e46 m3 smg purchase. When we sold my sc3 and my beater she said...why not look at an m3 you have always wanted one, i have always wanted a convertible m3 and its safe for the new baby (2 mo) and when she gets older we can all enjoy with the top down.
The SMG is AMAZING. I have driven a stick since I was about 13 so that is now 28 years of driving a stick and this one is so much fun. I describe it as basically I have a little robot pushing in, slipping and shifting for me. My wife can drive it in the "pseudo drive" mode and she thought it was fun as hell.
Miss my lexus but I destroyed a modded mustang GT and a old 70s pickup with 502 in my e46 with the top down yesterday!

Whenever I finish school and get into a real career, I'd love to try and get a Toyota Supra TT. I'd love to keep the SC for my girl but I'm thinking of getting rid of it and getting a four door lexus like an IS or an older LS. We'll see what happens.

I'd like to get my hands on a WRX. I live on a mountain. This is rally country. And I'd love a Dodge Ram with a Cummins and a big snail huffing into it. If money was plentiful, an Aerial Atom.

I had a 98 540i/6 sport. It was a boat. A fun boat, but a boat nonetheless. The 330i ZHP I had was much more fun... lacked some the torque, but made up for it in connectivity.. much better driver's car.
That being said, my next car will be a 335Ci. I work for BMW though, so parts/service are basically free (or close to it). Really though, the only problem they've had is fuel pumps, and the latest revision seems to be working well. You gotta love a car that with BPU and a tune can make 430whp/430wtq, run 11's, get 26mpg mixed, and still have all the safety, convenience, and luxury features of a modern heavy automobile.
They're not too bad to look at either..
