If you look at the modern bimmer crowd, wild examples are few and far between. Most value the "clean" look, and as the Fast and Furious days fall away, so will the bodykit/wing/poke/stretch looks.

I'll take a classy muscular (and possibly boring) shape over some of the "look at me" stuff any day.

Love the FDs. Please, whatever you do, don't put a LS1 in it. I love the sounds that rotary engine makes!

You'll be enjoying that sound for only 30,000 miles before having to rebuild it. LS1+FD=sexy. Who cares about weight distribution?

I would love to get an e39 someday. I want a BMW for my next car, but I'll probably get another Lexus since the maintenance is supposed to be expensive.

I'll probably go for a 2004ish Lex..LS.

I HATE the styling on the current LS....looks like a big camry.
So, I'm not the only one who thinks the new LS looks like a big ES/Camry. The LS400 and LS430 look a lot more presidential than the new ones do.

That being said, my next car will be a 335Ci. I work for BMW though, so parts/service are basically free (or close to it). Really though, the only problem they've had is fuel pumps, and the latest revision seems to be working well. You gotta love a car that with BPU and a tune can make 430whp/430wtq, run 11's, get 26mpg mixed, and still have all the safety, convenience, and luxury features of a modern heavy automobile.

They're not too bad to look at either..

I want this car! The newer BMW coupes are sick!

That's who I want to be someday except I'd rather still be 20 driving the SC instead of 50+.

This argument doesn't belong here, but since I own an LS1 FD, I'll make a quick correction on this misinformation.

The difference in weight between a fully dressed rotary (turbos, IC, etc) and an LS1 is ~60lbs. Once you move the 40lb battery to the trunk, the weight distribution is not noticeably different than a bone stock RX7. Stock RX7 is something like 50.1:49.9 and the LS1 powered cars done right are 50.3:49.7

Besides "heritage" or "uniqueness" there really is nothing the rotary engine does better than the LS1.

Feel free to PM me if you'd like to debate

Im just looking for something I can actually take to work on construction sites as a 2nd car now. Having a hard time deciding between a jeep wrangler or the new 2011 wide body wrx's.

I'm in your same camp for sure- at first I really want a 460. But as I looked at them I realized they were trying to make their flagship luxury sedan into a sports sedan- that's what the GS is for. However they're just following suit- look at the current S class and 7 series. The 7 series hasn't lost it's touch as much but the S class? Not feeling it. So instead of waiting to get a 460 i'll probably get a 430 later this year.

But, i think im going buy a newer SC to seriously mod (probably will still keep my current SC since it was my first car). And i want a IS350.

Hmm, I knew the LS1 was light, but I figured it would be more than 60 pounds off. Even more of a reason to rip that weed whacker motor out and put something with torque in I do agree with keeping the rotary heritage alive, but some can be tinkered with. Why would I debate?
