Default Window is stuck down but motor seems to work fine

Hey guys, I'm having a little problem with my window and I wanted to post here before I took the door apart. Im very familiar with taking the panel off ect because Ive done my own speakers but I'm not really great with the mechanical parts inside.

The window was half way down cruising today and when I pulled in to my house. I went to roll up the windows and before getting out I realized the driver window was still in the halfway position. I didnt notice at first because I heard the motor and it sounded fine. I then tried to roll it down and it went down but now its stuck there.

If I use the window button I can hear the motor working both up and down (if I press down it will even try to do the auto roll down, except that it will keep going and going until I make it stop. This leaves me to believe that something isnt connected right ect.

I would rather try and get it working myself instead of taking it somewhere. I am pretty sure someone here is more knowledgeable than me and knows whats going on. Does anyone know what the problem is with the info I've provided and if so can you offer any advice to get it going again?

Thank you very much.

edit: Also if you tell me to look at a specific part or something can you please tell me where it located (behind the speakers or the access hole) because I have dynamat all over the place and don't want to remove more than I have to.

Its your regulator. I had the same problem after owning the car for 6 months. You really have to options. Buy a new/used one, or fix it. There is a DIY somewhere on the forum that shows you how you can do that.

Here's one of the DIYs. I wrote this assuming that people already knew what part was broken and just needed an option for repair. The broken plastic slide goes around the vertical track that's pretty close to the centre of your door when you get the panel off.

Make sure you check the window lock button... i let my wife drive the SC and some how she locked the windows in the down position, the driver side will go up and down fine, but the passanger will not... i spent 3 hours pulling everything part and testing wires / power. even swapped out the window motor to no avail... Only to find the window lock button was pushed.

What did we learn? Dont let your wife/GF drive your car. the kittens will die and planets will collide
