From 240's to an SC finally... No longer lurking..finally posting... 92 Sc300 5 Speed
So after 4 240's in the past 3 years. And countless other cars (350z's, mustangs, VW's, honda's and even a V8 RWD Civic) Ive finally decided to build my self an SC300. Im finally going to be a poster on the board and not just a lurker....LOL! My most recent 240 was a T67 2jz S14 which I sold for a pretty penny to get me started on this project.
So I sold the S14 and went to Cali and found an ultra clean 1992 5 Speed. It came with no radio inside, stock GS300 wheels and Eibach Springs and Tokicos. Ive since put on some spare 19s I had lying around and a Pioneer double din dvd player and 4300k HIDs. On the way is a Shine Auto kit and new Stance Coilovers. Still deciding on which wheels to go with to complete the exterior. Kinda undecided between SSR MS1's or Work Varrianza's.
Concrete plans for the SC are:
AEM EMS
PT6265
FFIM
2.0mm Head gasket
550's
Im only shooting for 400-500hp with this project to start.
For the interior Im planning on going with a black on tan two tone look with Bride reclinables in the front. Oh well I guess Im just gonna quit talking now and just show you the start of a wonderful project. I am soo excited to get her started.
Exhaust is Trust and the wheels are Buddy Club P1's (old school forged weighing only like 15lbs each) in 19 x 9.5 +40 and 19 x 8.5 +40. 25mm Spacers should be bolted on by next weekend. Tires are 275/30/19 and 245/35/19.
Which wheels would you guys go with? Works or SSR's. Ive owned like 4 sets of Works allready and honestly getting bored with them. So Im leaning more towards the SSR's currently. But Im always open to suggestions...

Honestly compared to all of my previous builds this one is going to be the mildest. Ive always wanted a Supra, but 2 kids makes more sense(seating and economical sense) to build an SC. Plus Im getting older and lazier by the day so wire tucks and shaved engine bays are not even on my to do list as of now. Maybe later after Im happy with the way she looks and runs.
But for sure a billet 6265 or 6765 from Prescision Turbos and AEM EMS is the heart of most of my builds as of recent times. Flush (but not hella flush with max camber and 225's on an 11 or any thing like that) fitment is another item on the to do list. Something like 19 x 9 +15 fronts and 19 x 10.5 +20 rears with low disk rears for maximum lip and high disk for BBK fronts.
Just for giggles this is the craziest build Ive dont yet back in 2002:
My builds have gotten simpler and simpler since than. Plus my back just cant take much more wrenching under cars if you know what I mean.

MY god at the big ol motor in that light car. Welcome to the SC community. I think overall you will be MORE happier here. The SC you just picked up looks real good to. Check out my SEM interior thread, to see if that maybe something you might want to do for the interior, with your new seats.

Yea it's nice to be around people more my age and that share similar responsibilities in life. On zilvia.net and the other 240 communities you always end up arguing with some 19 year old know it all. Also car theft rate has sky rocketed with on the community. Drifting was fun back in 2003 but now it's so main stream I just had to build something a little more mature.
