Default i just lost a race my first race in my sc400!

Wow I just lost a race to one of my friends. He has a 2009 golf gti pushing 21psi stock turbo (which everyone already knows just making it clear) and he beat me I am super pissed. From a roll at 20mph he took me off the start and everything, from a stop I smashed him off line and he caught up and beat me. What is my problem here I need ideas to make my car faster and shift better because i love my sc400 but idk I'm having second thoughts and i shouldn't be having these feelings haha.

Also ruffly what can I do to my SC i want it to be fast and NOT rice it out and I'm not trying to bring a bad name to SC's i know my limits and when to race and not to race for any of you thinking that or having any ideas to say something in that matter.

Thanks for the help!

^ Ya a 5-speed swap puts some more power to the ground. Some good headers will add a little power too.

Its a 1995 and how much you think a 5 speed swap would be all my other cars were sticks and the automatic right now is kind of making me rethink a bit. Wow I am kind of pouting right now by my computer

Look up Redphoenix's threads on the swap. If you do it yourself it can be relatively affordable. Other basic mods you can do are a BFI and a catback exhaust

Yeah I was think of the catback exhaust and getting magna flows this weekend they are 450 brand new I know a guy who hooks it up but he said that's the base price for all his customers so I wonder how much he'll sell it to me for.

BFI and exhaust, and I guarantee your still not going to beat the GTi..at stock boost they make 210hp, but the thing thats going to give him the advantage over and over, is weight..you want to beat the GTi, swap in a GTE and up the boost, and give (sell) the 1UZ..

Do you know of any good headers for an SC300? I've heard OBX makes SC headers, but they suck.

The Magnaflows will make your car sound awesome. I've got Magnaflows and 2.5 inch piping and it sounds better than most V8's. I'm sure it would be sick on your SC400!

Can you honestly boost to 21 psi on its stock turbo? I'd think that thing would be in the 400+ range and it should rip the door off your sc in any situation if you have a stock 400. Even with full bolt ons, you are gonna need to be FI to beat that thing if it really IS pushing 21 psi.

If you get Magnaflows I would suggest that you get 2.5" piping from the cats back, and while its all off go ahead and gut the cats. That makes it sounds soo much better! But in my honest opinion go with Blitz, they sound amazing, but are expensive and rare!

I say go with 2.5 inch straight piping all the way back, deleting the resonators, and cats. Slap on some Magnaflows's or just use the the stock ones. Do a BFI and by some S and S headers. They are super high, but I heard a pretty good fit, with little trouble. JMO.

You are wasting your time and money - you are not going to beat that car unless you go FI. You bought a slow car and are surprised you got beat
