Question Battery fitment & Big 3 Question!

Im installing a 4000w max 2000w rms audio system into my 95 sc400 im waiting for my stuff in the mail (amp kit, high output alternator, sub, box etc.)

What I need to know is which battery would fit best in an sc400? Optima or kinetik? Has anyone done the big 3 upgrade in thier sc? if so do you know how long the wires have to be? 1) alt to + battery terminal 2) - battery terminal to Chassis 3) Engine ground to chassis.

I want to achieve maximum spl so I can compete in my area.

Not sure of the others, but your ground to chassis should be as short as possible. Long grounds can be a source of engine noise.

Are you doing a battery relocation or leaving it in the same spot?

What group size is the Kinetic battery?

IIRC, the SC's accept either a group 24 or 35 battery sizes. Obviously, they can be modded to accept others, but I believe those are the intended sizes.

Hi snowfox444, if you are planning on competing, you might want to consider relocation and a group size that offers more reserve capacity, like Group 27 or 31. Both of those batteries also offer provisions for venting in enclosed spaces, like trunks or interiors. RedTops offer plenty of cranking power, but YellowTops are strongly recommended for car audio applications. Both also come with three-year replacement warranties. If you have any other questions about our batteries, please don’t hesitate to ask.

I have an Optima yellow top in mine, but if you want SPL then you have the wrong car, unless you are building a wall. I don't know if you are just doing local shows or shows put on by an organization (MECA, DB Drag, IASCA, USACI) but the car does quite well in Sound Quality. The one that I just purchased from my team mate took second place in MECA's stock class at world finals last year.
