Oh boy, the past year and a half...

Last August (2010) I got into a horrific crash which destroyed the car you see here. I should have been killed, but ended up walking away. Literally. That's not to say I didn't get injured because I did, but I was able to crawl out of my car unaided, which was upside down on its roof.

Anyway, I didn't just junk the car. I stored the wreck and had all of its usable parts removed. I still have plenty of parts available, including the engine and tranny. And the lights. Yes, they survived the crash intact.

Fast forward to this summer, and I had the stock lights on my replacement SC swapped with the aftermarket ones in the pics here. One bulb had a cracked filament and needed to be replaced, but everything worked after that. Sort of, anyway. A few weeks passed and the passenger halo and peripheral lights stopped working. A couple of wiring jobs later by one of my mechanics who's an electrical expert, and everything works perfectly. The last wiring job was done just a few days ago, btw.

After I have my car properly detailed, which will happen soon enough, the scratches sustained in my crash will be removed and the lights will be as good as new.

Not a good story, but glad you are OK. I have seen the EBay lights online and like how they look. Just want something that might last 4 or 5 years. I got the original light buckets in now , but driving 500 miles a week, I need more light.

I've never seen an ebay projector provide more light. They typically come with smaller bulbs and worse projectors, both optically and their inability to be adjusted properly.

Props on the writeup.

I am usually not one to tell people what to do with their cars. I honestly could care less. But, in my opinion these ebay lights are a sure way to ruin the looks of an otherwise classy looking car. They just look like crap.

Thumbs up

Personally, I just love the lights and think that the original plastic ones are designed poorly. If you can replace the plastic with glass then you'll be much better off because the plastic gets very dirty in just a few months. I replaced my plastic high beams with the '97+ glass ones and am very happy with the results. As for the aftermarket lights, I've received many compliments on them- even by other SC drivers and my Lexus mechanics. Of course, in the end it's just a matter of taste. To each his own. Highly recommend by me, though.

If you want more light, get a 4300k or 5000k HID plug-n-play kit for your stock headlights. Speaking from experience, those ebay headlights are a step in the opposite direction when it comes to light output.

Thanks. Couldn't remember. I knew it was either '95 or '97.

Yeah those cockeyed lights are good for looking at the squirrels in the trees.

even the brand new headlights i sell are still recommended to seal them with silicone to prevent fogging, but when you seal them, make sure you don't have moisture in side the lens because it will cause the condensation
