Recommendations for project cars?
So my dad and I have been restoring American cars for a few years now, a 1969 z28 Camaro, 1966 mustang, and a 1986 chevy pickup, all fully restored frame offs. But the other day i asked him, "why cant we build a Jap car?" And he says, "Find one, and we will build it." So now im scrambling trying to find a car that can be raced, tuned, and just have fun in for under $7500. I'm not sure on what the plans will be, but i'm thinking turbo for whatever we build, he doesn't want to do a frame off.. but wants to have a car to beat the **** out of. So any recommendations on what to build?
Thanks,
Mike
Thanks,
Mike

I used to know a guy "steve" from alamo autosports in arlington that has a 240 turbo'd. Custome intake & fully built block & head. It put down 400 + & walked mid 90's sport bikes on the hwy all the time. I vote 240/rb26 or a 300zx/rb26. might be easier to find the 300. That white celica is bada$$. 2jzgte in that would be sweet or n/a fully built 1uz w/ITB's

For the $$ I'd say 240sx.......the old Z's will blow your budget just getting road worthy, much less track worthy with enough engine to be competitive....240sx stuff, esp S13 chassis are a dime a dozen and cheap aftermarket parts are everywhere.
