It seems as no one uses search function these days. ![Egads!](https://www.clublexus.com/forums/images/smilies/pat.gif)
This is a very informative thread regarding the newer OEM headlights:
https://www.clublexus.com/forums/sc-...-off-line.html
To OP, I have a pair of ebay headlights on my car with proper HID projector retrofitted. The build quality of the ebay headlights are very poor. In fact, the only thing good about it is the clear lens. It did, however, updated the look of my SC since the OEM sets were yellowing due to age.
If you are going to retrofit it, go for it. If not, get a newer OEM headlights and call it a day.

And seriously, please search people!

I have a chrome set which I bought off of Ebay. I don't know if they're exactly the same as these ones, and I only got two pieces. The highbeam/parking lights are still stock.
I know people feel strongly about their headlights, one way or another. I'm no different and can say that I'm extremely satisfied with my aftermarket ones. I've heard of the build quality being poor, their not being adjustable, the headlight aim being off, etc., but the only problem I had was having them installed correctly. Now that they are, I couldn't be happier with them. Highly recommended.
BTW, if you want installation instruction pics, please see here: https://www.clublexus.com/forums/sc-...ns-inside.html

97+ headlights even tho they arent HID projectors still have a kinda of "cutoff" compared to pre 97 headlights.
Picture examples: (from my whole retro adventure)
97+ headlights

pre 97 headlights do not have this line.. its pretty much just a reflector in front to bounce light to the back and out..
However even if the 97+ might give you a better output, the CLOUDY LENS is what kills your light, only way to fix this is to do a full HID Projector Retrofit.
Before my black house and clear lens mod + TSX Retro.

After Black housed + clear lens on same headlights.

Do It Right the first time!! Go Full HID/Retro/Lens(optional). You need to MINIMAL at least clear out the lines in front of the projector.....
This is how its done right if you want to MOD your headlights!

BTW This is cheaper than buying Brand New from Lexus + you get better output and updated look. Dont say cost too much because the Ugly Ebay Headlights are 300~ bucks. You can retrofit for that price easy. Take the time and work on your car dont rice it..
TSX Projectors $100~
Brackets $40~
HID Kit $50~
Deline Stock Headlights and Labor = 2 Days of your hard work.
Clear Lens Add $200 for the ones that you can get ahold of now, but if you are on a budget just Deline the stock ones.
